DO THINGS THAT YOU TRULY LOVE! this is what this whole long post is going to be about!
With my birthday coming up soon I am getting more and more excited about the big day. As a result, I have been thinking about what exciting I could plan and of course as everyone loves presents, what I would love to receive for my 21st. However, this is not going to be another wishlist. If you are hoping for one, apologies in advance, will do that some time soon. This is more into my personality rather than fashion.
In the past couple of moths, since the uni semester ended with bright colours I decided to focus on the future and finally decide what I am going to do when I graduate, as the super exciting and very scary date is crawling closer with every day. At the beginning of this year, for the first time in my whole life I sat down and and wrote my New Year Resolutions for 2015. I had been thinking about it for quite a few day until I actually decided what I needed to achieve - I had to take this seriously, don't worry going to the gym was not one of the points... The resolutions have been done, put into an envelope, sealed and hidden somewhere in my book shelf. The whole figuring my future thing had been moving forward slowly, but we are getting somewhere, but there were some things that I had a hold of and then sadly failed on fulfilling and now am trying to get those back on track. I feel like I am getting nowhere with this. Anyways, the whole point is - the past year has not been easy, I am going to be honest here. My emotional state crumbled quite a few times and I realised I had to focus on myself as that it what is important at this moment. I have to do things that I love, I have to spoil myself (responsibly) and enjoy life! Those who have known me for a while, know that there are a few small things that can make me instantly happy:
* Raspberries - from actual berries, to flavours and smells, I am all about those raspberries!
* Fairy lights - I am a true romantic here...
* Helium Balloons! - I am quite mature on most occasions but there is a thing that brings my inner child out... I have always wanted to get loads of them for my birthday. There is a reason why I have this image of a room filled with helium balloons. Seriously, BIRTHDAY GOALS! Please, if you are reading this and I am an important person in your life, make this happen and I will be the happiest girl in the continent on the 30th of September!
* Coffee - I do not need coffee to survive, I just love the concept of it. A cup of coffee, a book and a cosy cafe? That is all I am asking from a day off.
I mean I could add so many more things to the list, but these four are silly things that can really make me happier. Instantly... and there has to be music playing. Always.
If it happens that you are having a bad day, just make it better by doing a tiny small thing that makes you happy. If you get hurt or heartbroken - just do them all, because it helps, believe me, been there, done that! You might not be able to be with someone you love and it seems like it is all falling apart but there is always that friend that will buy you brownies and hand you tissues while speaking about all kind of random things.
Just be yourself! Grab a friend and eat some raspberries with a balloon in one hand put Arctic Monkeys on a full blast. Not literally, but find your happy pill, an alternative that makes the sun shine again and you will feel productive and full of ideas again.
And so it happened that not a long time ago we had an International Faire happening here in grey Aberdeen and I managed to get a hold of two wonderful things - a Tiramisu Coffee and a Raspberry coffee syrup... It is like an explosion of joy! Look at these beauties!
So, I feel like a child again, being so excited abut my birthday but as you can see it got me thinking. A lot! I feel like hitting 21 is going to be like a new beginning. I do not feel like 20 years old, I feel older, but that is because it's be and I am kind of excited to reach that milestone! I know that there is a cliche that every woman wants to stay 18 forever. Well I don't. Maybe 21 is going to be brilliant time?
I feel honoured if you've read it! ! !
